The following photo's were taken on 1 May 2006 at Fish River. My dad, Ivan Hempel, age 67, landed this big one after jokingly mentioning that morning at breakfast that "today I'm going to pull one out of 30 kgs" - this, after fishing for four days and not getting a single fish! We laughed and honestly didn't think that almost an hour later his words would ring true!
This is his first 'big' catch in all his years of fishing - and a proud moment it was indeed!
Fish drowned and incurred injuries from rocks whilst reeling in to shore, therefore unfortunately not returnable to river
