Gauteng South Police Freshwater Angling Club
Our club was formed in the early 1960's. Previously only reserved to active police men and women. In the early 1990's Supt J.P Kleynhans was selected as our Chairman. New things started to happen and the club was opened to all members of the public. In 1998 the club was crowned as Central Gauteng league champions. Currently our total active anglers are 54, consisting of 37 senior, 6 women, 6 junior and 5 novice anglers. Our club covers the whole of the East Rand and we have our club house at the Mechanical School in Benoni. We have a monthly meeting on the first Thursday of each month.

We only fish from the banks and we have our monthly competition within a 120 km from Benoni. We do arrange special angling clinics for the beginners and visit special venues from time to time (like Bloemhof and Klipdrift).
